Understand when and why WemoFleet notifications are triggered below (notifications availability are dependant on the device's hardware capabilities):

Accident Detection

  • The device registers a possible accident via an extensive shock (g-force). False alarms may include the vehicle going through a pothole or uneven surfaces at a certain speed.
  • Scenario: Upon collision with another vehicle, the notification will be triggered
  • Scenario of a false alarm: Driving on a rough road may cause notifications, this can be prevented if the device is tightly secured.

  • Scenario: Plugging the device into the vehicle's OBDII port or if the vehicle's battery is just connected (whilst the device is plugged in).

Device Plugged-Out

  • When the device is plugged out from the power source or it does not receive power from external sources.
  • Scenario: Plugging the device out from the vehicle's OBDII port or if the vehicle's battery is disconnected (whilst the device is plugged in).

Digital Input Activation

  • This notification is triggered when the digital input number on the device is activated. The digital input number corresponding to this notification has to be set beforehand.
  • Specify the number of digital input and the control type: trigger in case of its activation or deactivation. If the message does not have the I/O parameter, the io_n parameter is analysed.

Digital Input Deactivation

  • This notification is triggered when the digital input number on the device is deactivated. The digital input number corresponding to this notification has to be set beforehand.
  • Specify the number of digital input and the control type: trigger in case of its activation or deactivation. If the message does not have the I/O parameter, the io_n parameter is analysed.

Driver Assigned

  • This notification is triggered when a driver checks into the vehicle by tapping their RFID card onto the RFID reader
  • Scenario: This can be used to record a driver's attendance at the start of their shift for the specific vehicle

Driver Unassigned

  • The notification is triggered when a driver checks out of the vehicle by tapping their RFID card onto the RFID reader
  • Scenario: This can be used to record a driver's attendance at the end of their shift for the specific vehicle

  • Scenario: This notification can be used as a reminder to check on the engine oil level of the vehicle.

Engine On

  • When the device detects the vehicle's engine is switched ON

Entered Geofence

  • The notification is triggered when the vehicle enters a virtual boundary over a real geographical area by GPS technology.
  • For this to work, the geofence has to be created by the user beforehand and assign vehicles that are affected by this Geofence

Excessive Idling

  • This occurs when the vehicle idles (vehicle engine ON but stationary) for over 10 minutes.

Exited Geofence

  • The notification is triggered when the vehicle exits a virtual boundary over a real geographical area by GPS technology.
  • For this to work, the geofence has to be created by the user beforehand and assign vehicles that are affected by this Geofence

Fuel Filling

  • The notification is triggered when the fuel sensor (if installed) detects an increase in the fuel level exceeding the threshold that has been set for the vehicle.
  • The threshold varies from vehicle type depending on its fuel tank capacity.

Fuel Theft

  • The notification is triggered when the fuel sensor (if installed) detects a drop in the fuel level exceeding the threshold that has been set for the vehicle.
  • The threshold varies from vehicle type depending on its fuel tank capacity.

High RPM

  • When the device detects the engine RPM exceeding 4000 RPM (Revolutions per minute - how fast an engine is rotating).

Long Driving

  • When the vehicle is driven continuously (motion state maintain at moving) exceeding 8 hours.

Maintenance

  • The notification is triggered when the service interval "Maintenance" is due in 1 week's time.
  • Scenario: This notification can be used as a reminder to send the vehicle for maintenance

No Warm-Up

  • The notification is triggered when the vehicle moves without warming up the engine for at least 150 seconds upon starting the vehicle after 7.5 hours.
  • To maintain a vehicle's engine longevity, it is recommended to warm up the engine before driving especially in cold weather. This is done by letting the engine run for a few minutes before driving.

Passenger Alarm

  • The notification is triggered when a passenger does not exit the vehicle at the specified location that has been set for that passenger.
  • Scenario: Commonly used in school buses that keep track of the students leaving the bus at the set location (homes).

Passenger Check-In

  • The notification is triggered when a passenger checks into the vehicle by tapping their RFID card onto the RFID reader in the vehicle as they enter the vehicle.
  • Scenario: Commonly used in school buses that record each student onboarding the school bus.

Passenger Check-Out

  • The notification is triggered when a passenger checks out of the vehicle by tapping their RFID card onto the RFID reader in the vehicle as they exit the vehicle.
  • Scenario: Commonly used in school buses that record each student leaving the school bus.

Permit

  • The notification is triggered when the service interval "Permit" is due in 1 week's time.
  • Scenario: This notification can be used as a reminder to renew the permit of the vehicle.

Possible Towing

  • The notification is triggered when the vehicle is moving but the engine is OFF:
